There are 5 clinics in Port Alfred, 3 of the clinics are servicing the entire Nelson Mandela township Community, another one is servicing the Station Hill Community and the last one is in town but people from Nemato and Station Hill do come to the clinic.

These are offices in the township opposite the community hall. This is where our people apply for old age pension, child support grant and disability grants. Two clerks are employed there. They are assisted by 5 volunteers.

Department of Welfare Offices |

There are 3 Social Workers employed in these offices. They help in the identification of poor families, and give them food parcels. They offer counselling to raped victims, foster care i.e. placing children in alternative places. They do everything that has to do with social problems of the people.

There are 9 pre-school in Nelson Mandela Township and 1 in Station Hill. Many of these pre-schools have no source of funding and they largely depend on donations. The one in Station Hill is privately owned.

There are 5 schools in Nemato and 1 primary school in station Hill. Two of the schools in Nemato are primary schools i.e. Dambuza and Mtyobo. There is 1 combined school which is Kuyasa and 1 high school which is Nomzamo. There is also Enkunthazweni School for disabled which is not registered with the department of education. This school depends largely on donations and the conditions are appalling.

Nomzamo Business Hive |

This Nomzamo Business Hive is in the old Nomzamo High School. It was funded by the department of Local Government & Housing to the tune of 1.5 million. There are a number of small businesses operating in these premises. Ndlambe Municipality local economic division is looking after these projects. Some of them have ceased to operate.
