In 2005 we started our programme with Nemato Rowing Club.
Seeing the many disadvantages our youth are faced with, we made education and life skills a more
and more important part of our programme.
To increase the number of youngsters that can benefit from
our programme we included more sporting codes in our programme. We started
Nemato Gymnastics Club in 2009, in 2010 we started
Nemato Netball Club and in 2011 we started
Nemato Fencing Club.
To coordinate the activities of the clubs and offer the educational and life skills programme to the
athletes from all four clubs, we started Nemato Sports Federation. It is a registered nonprofit
organisation (075-396-NPO) and public benefit organisation (930033563).
At the end of 2011 the federation became Nemato Change a Life, focusing on
the youth empowerment programme.
Members of the sports clubs are automatically members of Nemato Change a Life as well. All members participate
in one of the sporting codes and in the youth empowerment programme. Choosing only sport or only empowerment
is not an option, they go together and strengthen each other.
